Reinaldo Claudio, DMD, MD
Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
Dr. Reinaldo Claudio was born and raised in Puerto Rico. He knew that he wanted to be in the dental field since he was twelve years old. After graduating Magna Cum Laude with Bachelor of Science degree in 1988 from the University of Puerto Rico, Dr. Claudio attended the University of Puerto Rico School of Dentistry and graduated Cum Laude in 1992. He completed his General Practice Residency at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, and then went on to obtain his Medical Degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan in 1995. He completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Detroit Medical Center-Sinai Hospital in 1999. While there, Dr. Claudio received extensive training in dentoalveolar, implant, orthognathic, TMJ, maxillofacial tumor, reconstructive, cleft lip and palate surgery as well as facial trauma and general anesthesia.
Dr. Claudio is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He serves as a fellow for the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is an active member of the American Medical Association, American Dental Association, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, Florida Dental Society of Anesthesiology, Florida Dental Association and the West Coast District Dental Association. He is a member of the Dawson Academy Study Club. He is also past president and active participant in the Upper Pinellas County Dental Association.
Dr. Claudio has been in private practice since 1999. He attends multiple national and international conferences to keep abreast of the latest advances in dentistry and medicine. He enjoys teaching as an Affiliated Clinical Professor at the University of Florida School of Dentistry in Seminole, FL. For almost two decades Dr. Claudio had dedicated his time and surgical skills performing volunteer work through Healing the Children and several other charity organizations by providing treatment to children with cleft lip, palate and maxillofacial deformities in underdeveloped countries. He also volunteers at the Homeless Empowerment Project and the Gulf Coast Dental outreach providing free oral surgical procedures.
Dr. Claudio is a proud father of two sons, Emmanuel and Leonardo. He is a published author in the Spanish literature with multiple articles and an inspirational book. He also maintains a weekly inspirational radio show. He loves to travel, boating, the outdoors and crossfit.
